Gianni Rodari ha scritto questo spettacolo con i bambini di una scuola elementare, ecco perché più di una rappresentazione, si tratta di un vero e proprio gioco scenico che gli attori fanno con il pubblico, che diventa protagonista e non solo spettatore della drammatizzazione.

Il pretesto del racconto è la nascita delle maschere della commedia dell’arte, che si trovano a vivere quella che nell’immaginario infantile è “l’avventura della vita”.

Eccoli quindi alle prese con la ricerca di una mamma (l’affetto); a combattere con gli uomini neri (le paure); nel mercato delle parole (la voglia di conoscere); il viaggio sulla luna (l’avventura); nell’isola delle Favole (il gioco)… Tutto questo coinvolgendo i bambini con attori, burattini, pupazzi, muppets e quant’altro possa contribuire a rendere più divertente il GIOCO.
